Oil & Gas

At Independence, India’s domestic Oil production was just 250,000 tonnes per annum. Most foreign experts had written off India as far as the discovery of new petroleum reserves was concerned. In 1980's the Govt. owned Oil Companies had reached to a state of diminishing returns and oil production had begun to decline. However with the liberalization in the Policies of the Government of India fuelled by the ever increasing demand of energy, the government started offering blocks for development to various private companies. These companies started looking towards new technologies for exploration which are more feasible and productive. Today EM techniques are not only used on land but have also been used in marine environments, which are more relevant as India has a large coastal line. Today, Marine Magneto Telluric, Controlled Source EM along with Ocean Bottom Seismometers are being used for offshore hydrocarbon exploration and have immense potential in India.

How can Ultra Technologies help?

India has a huge coastal line which is still virgin to a large extent and needs to be explored. The need of the day is to use the most effective techniques to meet the ever increasing energy requirements. Ultra Technologies through its overseas associates have introduced advanced geophysical techniques in hydrocarbon exploration and gas hydrate studies, which are still in their infancy in many parts of the world. These technologies cover Marine Magneto Telluric, CSEM and Marine Transient EM for Oil & Gas exploration and use of Ocean Bottom Seismometers for Gas Hydrate Studies.

Ultra Technologies is also associated with overseas companies to provide airborne geophysical surveys which are very effective in covering a huge expanse of geologically diverse area for exploration of natural resources. We also offer regular range of geophysical equipment like Marine Magnetometers, Ocean Bottom Seismometers, Exploration Seismographs, Superconducting Gravimeter, Overhauser Magnetometer, Fluxgate Magnetometer, MT/IP/TDEM/CSAMT Systems, High Power Earth Resistivity Systems, Receivers for Marine EM Surveys etc.
